Well, shit.
WEEK 42
Well… shit.
My camera died.
Another Olympus OM-D E-M10. Same pattern. Turn it on — shutter clicks — black screen. Nothing. No reaction. I switch it off, on again… after a while it maybe lets me take one shot.
It started in freezing temperatures. Weird metallic sound when the shutter fired. I ignored it.
Now I can’t shoot.
I still have an old PEN Mini, but it’s not it. Feels like going backwards.
This winter I tried Sony full-frame. Bought it. Used it. Sold it. Didn’t like it.
For ten years I’ve been doing the same thing:
E-M10 breaks → buy another one → keep going.
Used body is like $240. Easy.
But now I don’t know.
Maybe try something else. Fuji X-S20 or whatever. Or go the other way — some old digital compact, just for fun.
Only thing I know:
no film. Too slow. Too expensive. Not for me.
So yeah. No camera right now.
Just thinking what’s next.

I'm rather fond of Olympus, and used it for a long time. They get an unnecessarily bad rap for silly YouTube reasons. If you like it, get another one. No need for digging around!
If you’re looking for a change from the OM-D system, you might consider the Lumix GX series. For example, the Lumix GX80 or a newer model.
